Do's |
|
1. File a
Designation of Treasurer before receiving
funds including your own, this is an automatic
referral to the Ohio Elections Commission. |
|
2. Keep an up to
date Designation of Treasurer on file, if
you are an open committee, please update this
form any time there is any change in treasurer
addresses. |
|
3. File on time,
refer to the elections calendar for specific
dates, reports must be received in our office,
postmark does not count for date. |
|
4. Learn the
proper use of campaign finance reporting forms.
Instruction regarding the proper completion of
these forms are printed in the Ohio Campaign
Finance Reporting Handbook. |
|
5. Collect and
report full name and addresses of contributors,
and each entity to whom expenditures were made. |
|
6. Attach a copy
of a cancelled check or a receipted bill/invoice
showing payment to the back of the report for
every expenditure of $25.00 or more. |
|
7. Issue Only
Pacs may accept corporate contributions,
treasurers must follow up with 30-B-1 forms;
30-B-2 for unions contributions. |
|
8. Do call for

Dont's |
|
1. Do not accept
corporate contributions for profit or non,
(exemption for issue committees only). |
|
2. Do not accept
cash (coin & currency) contributions greater
than $100.00 per person. |
|
3. Do not accept
anonymous contributions, see special reporting
procedures. |
|
4. Do not convert
committee funds for personal use, do not
co-mingle funds. Ohio Revised Code
3517.10(D)(3)(a) stipulates that campaign
committees must deposit all monetary
contributions received by the committee into an
account separate from personal or business
account of the candidate or campaign committee. |
